@redneck500 Talk to your insurance company. My former employer’s insurance company wouldn’t cover it under any circumstances, but my insurance as a federal employee does cover it based on BMI and co-morbidities. If your insurance company won’t cover it, start talking to some surgeons in your area — many will finance your surgery costs.
aww im so hapy for all you=)
Awesome Transformations…I bet they are 100 percent more happy now. =] You guys can check my video also of my 2 month transformation if ya’ll want.
I am talking to my doctor in a few days. I am so tired of being big. I’ve been trying for years. I need this to happen!
Wow is all I can say.
The Wizard of BOD
You don’t need surgery. I’ve lost about 45 pounds since January on diet alone. All it takes is planning, persistence, and patience.
Plan out what you’ll eat every day. You don’t have to be a health nut, just eat more fruits and vegetables, and eat less bad things, like ice cream or cookies.
After you have a plan, stick with it. Remember, this is a lifestyle change.
And be patient. You didn’t gain weight overnight and you won’t lose it overnight.
My advice is simple, but it works. Surgery is not the best answer.
did these people have reconstructive surgery also ?!
ugh, this is so wrong. die,t excercise and you’ll lose weight, i hate how everyone thinks its just as easy as getting a portion of your stomach cut out, more than half of these people will gain all that weight back and have a shorter life expectancy. not worth it. this coming from someone who has struggled with weight her whole life, ive gone from 260lbs to 150 with out surgery and alot of these people looked like they werent much bigger than that. you can do it on your own!
@vlo1125 Incorrect, the 5 year success rate for gastric bypass is around 93% for obese paitients and 57% among super-morbidly obese patients.
The 5 year success rate for normal weight loss among supermorbidly obese patients is sadly less than 5%. Yes, it can be done naturally, but their chances of succeeding are very low. Even among the obese the sucess rate is less than half that of weight loss surgery.
Neither option is easy. Well done on your loss though.I hope you maintain it.
I just had my done 2 1/2 months ago and I have lost 60 lbs. I was also scared and afraid. But let me tell ya something it was WORTH it. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am.
I know this surgery is life changing and for health reasons its good but how did you get so big to begin with? You are still the fat person inside because you did not work hard to diet all you did was lay down and the surgery did all the rest because all you can eat is a couple spoon fools
Got an appointment with my Dr on July 6 …it marks the journey of hopefully getting the lap band… I am praying to god that I can get this procedure.. I have a daughter to look after and I want to be able to play with her outside without feeling tired after 5 minutes.
@ jmeree PLEASE do a little research on Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) B4 posting (not 2B mean but) such an uninformed comment. As any WL surgeon & patient will tell you this surgery is a tool, NOT a quick fix, WLS people have 2 work very hard 4 their WL success, WLS is only part of it, like 30%. The other 70% is ALL the work that person’s willing to put into it, eating the right foods, exercise, etc. As with any WL tool if you’re not willing to do the work, IT SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK 4U, period!
@ jmeree: please do research on WLS (weight loss surgery) Any WL surgeon will tell U if U’re not willing 2do the work (diet & exercise, mental attitude) then surgery will NOT work 4U, period! I can’t stress that enuf. It’s 1st thing surgeon will discuss w/potential patient cuz like u most ppl go see a WL surgeon thinking “you don’t work hard to diet, all you do is lay down and the surgery does all the rest because all you can eat is a couple of spoonfuls.” That is sooo far from the truth.
I am an adolescent and I am getting the surgery in six months! Because they now have a program for kids my age that qualify to get the surgery and are approved by the FDA. This video really got me excited for the whole thing and I am willing to do all the work the doctors are setting me up on to get like these people!
@jmeree … ok then. lmao
i def want to get this done but i think my insurance only covers gastric bypass :/
@smg02lu3 I don’t need to do research, I have 6 cousins who had the surgery and one vomits, and you know why? Because she is still that fat girl inside eating too much. Look, I am just saying what many people are thinking- How did you get that fat to begin with? oh, and don’t give me the slow metabolism crap- if you eat 6,000 calories a day you’ll get fat. I love to eat and if I could, I would eat all day but I don’t, why? Cuz I don’t want to need this surgery, sorry I am just a real person
I don’t understand… All it does is makes you eat less? Couldn’t that be done without surgery? Ain’t that America…
@jmeree . you really don’t know all that is involved in this drastic lifestyle change. You have to take vitamins everyday for the rest of your life, you cant drink carbonated drinks or use a straw, and you have to sip everything you drink, never gulp again.Never eat like you did before. Only an ignorant smart ass would make such a stupid comment.
@credregal Actually you sound like a super out of control “big person” that did nothing to lose weight but everything to get 100lbs or more overweight- oh poor thing, you can’t gulp down three large cokes with your three big macs ever again!- guess what chunks, you were never meant to eat that way in the first place! 10,000 calories a day is not normal. Don’t get so big in the first place and then you don’t need this “oh so difficult surgery” exercise and control your mouth!
@jmeree…someone like you should have been aborted instead of being born. I hope your mom is happy for bringing such loser into this world, I knew I should have just gave her the money for the abortion.
im originally frm India… but after marrige im here in Saudi..god i hate it here…as not much activites4 females..as i was plum b4 marrige n nw hve gain a lot of weight after my 1st pregnency..n really wanna do this surgery..the thing is i dnt wanna do it in India.. Shh.!!! dnt wnt my relatives 2 knw abt it..
so searchin 4 a good doc in Saudi.. dnt knw wat will happen..
but after seein this video im feelin 2 go 4 a surgery.. 2morrow itself……….
why are people hating so much. they get the surgery to stop being made fun of and judged by shallow people who have nothing better to do than make fun of someone who has more body fat? ha get to know the person. dont judge them by their size. people like that are the main reason they even have the thought of getting a procedure this intense. im happy for you all. you look amazing
